One thing you will all be aware of is that travelling over that little stretch of water between the Mainland and the Isle of Wight is not cheap. At present, the Isle of Wight Hockey Club is not offered any concessions on travel fees. However, there are a number of deals available on most of the travel firms, including two for one, kids half price, group reductions etc etc. The best way is to ring the relevent company prior to travel and ask for any deals, you could end up saving enough for quite a few drinks after the game.
The best and most convenient way to get to the Isle of Wight is via the Wightlink FastCat or via Hovertravel as these are the quickest and closest forms of transport to Smallbrook Stadium, both only around ten minutes from the ground. We will pick you up from both and drop you back. Timetables can be found in the Links section. However, there are a number of other ways to cross over to the Island.
As a guide - the car ferry's take roughly an hour - so if your game is at 1pm for example, you should look to get either the 10'30am or 11am sailings depending on which company you use. There is also the option of using Red Funnel's Red Jets (similar to Wightlink's FastCats) which come into West Cowes.

The Isle of Wight Hockey Club can offer pick-ups and drop-off's - please contact the relevant captain's at least five days prior to travel.
Please note teams travelling over via Lymington to Yarmouth are asked to make their own way to Smallbrook Stadium, as this distance is often further than many Mainland journeys.
