Isle of Wight Hockey Club - Fixtures and Results 2007/2008 |
The Isle of Wight Hockey Club hopes all opposition teams enjoy their games and we will do our best to accommodate you. We realise being on an Island can be difficult for opposite teams to travel over to, and we will strive to help you reach our ground with minimum fuss.
All our home games are played at Smallbrook Stadium, Ryde. At present we are not offered any concessions for Solent travel, but various deals are available through the relevant ferry firms, whose websites can be found in the Links section.
Please note the Isle of Wight Hockey Club is unable to provide opposition team pick-up/drop back from Wightlink's Yarmouth terminal.
All travelling sides are recommended to travel via Wightlink's FastCat to Ryde or via Hovertravel. We can guarantee we can pick you up and drop you back to Ryde Pier or Hovertravel, however any teams wishing to travel via Cowes or East Cowes through Red Funnel should contact the relevant captain's prior to travel to see if pick-ups are available as we cannot guarantee this will always be available.
PITCH COST: At present the Island only has one full size astro-pitch which is in heavy demand. The Isle of Wight Hockey Club has to book slots several weeks in advance.
The club respectfully asks opposition teams to inform the club with a good period of notice if they cannot fulfill a fixture. If insufficient notice is given, the Isle of Wight HC may seek to recover pitch hire costs from the opposition, as we will be liable to pay Ryde School for the booking unless adequate notice is given of a cancellation.
